Alissa Arango

Alissa Arango

Alissa is a current medical student at Duke University School of Medicine. Her research interests reside in spinal alignment and its repercussions on patients of any age. Alissa is exploring how variance in spine alignment influences patient quality of life. She is excited to apply the lessons she learns within her research in her pursuit of a career in Orthopaedic Surgery. 

Alissa graduated from the University of Florida in 2019 where she studied Applied Physiology and Kinesiology. She completed an internship with the University of Florida Strength and Conditioning department where she coordinated and implemented sport specific training regimens for Division I athletes. In addition, Alissa was employed by the University of Florida Football Equipment room, where she served as Team Seamstress for three years. She then graduated with a Master of Biomedical Science at Duke University School of Medicine in 2020.
