Edwin Owolo is a second-year medical student who began working in the Goodwin Lab during his first year at the Duke University School of Medicine. Edwin graduated from Harvard University in 2019 with a degree in Neurobiology and conducted research on parental behavior in mice in the Dulac Lab under Dr. Catherine Dulac. He was also a member of the varsity baseball team. In Boston, he founded Crimson Medical Mentorship Program, a non-profit organization aimed at exposing high school students from URM backgrounds to the medical field. Edwin has an interest in clinical research for improving patient outcomes within the field of neurosurgery. His current research is aimed at investigating the utilization of palliative care in patients with spinal metastases.
