Emanuel Ray

Emanuel Ray is a second-year medical student at Duke University School of Medicine working in the Goodwin Lab. He graduated from Tufts University in 2021 where he studied Physics, minored in Spanish, and was a member of the varsity baseball team. His undergraduate research focused on biomedical engineering, developing novel silk-elastin-like proteins for use in medical devices and drug delivery. After graduating, Emanuel conducted clinical and translational research at the University of Iowa, focused on postoperative delirium and neurotechnological device development. He also worked for a medical device startup. Emanuel’s research interests include intraoperative surgical technology development, novel tumor identification methods, and clinical outcomes in neurosurgery.
