Emmy Duerr

I am a second-year medical student at the Duke University School of Medicine pursuing a career in surgery. My path has been shaped by a conviction that relationships, both between patients and surgeons and among members of surgical teams, can be as critical to outcomes as technical skill. This perspective has guided my research, service, and leadership, and it continues to define the questions I hope to answer as I build my career.
