Tanner Zachem is a PhD Student in the Goodwin Lab and Brain Tool Lab focused on developing new intraoperative tools to make tumor resection more informed and effective. His main project is the development and clinical translation of a dye-free laser-based tumor identification system. Tanner is a National Science Foundation funded student as part of the National Research Traineeship for the Advancement of Surgical Technologies (TAST). He also works on machine learning algorithms for intraoperative neuromonitoring as well as clinical research regarding patient portal usage. Tanner has also won the Paul and Lauren Ghaffari Graduate Fellowship for Oncology Research. Tanner plans to attend medical school after completing his PhD.
