Trupti Trivedi

Ph.D.

Dr. Trivedi earned her Ph.D. from University of Sydney, where she studied effects of vitamin D deficiency and a role of vitamin D signaling in breast and prostate cancer bone metastases in Dr. Markus Seibel’s laboratory. To pursue her interest in the cancer and bone field, she performed her post-doctoral fellowship in Dr. Theresa Guise’s laboratory, where she aimed to determine the mechanisms of systemic effects of abnormal bone resorption on muscle function and glucose metabolism and to investigate preventative therapeutics in animal models of muscle weakness and hyperglycemia in mouse models of bone metastases, metabolic bone diseases, cancer treatment induced bone loss in a setting of aging and diet-induced obesity. Using her expertise in cancer-associated musculoskeletal abnormalities, Dr. Trivedi has joined Dr. Rory Goodwin’s laboratory at Duke University as a Research Scientist to aid in expanding his translational and clinical research portfolio to explore musculoskeletal health in spine tumor patients. In Goodwin’s lab, Dr. Trivedi’s goal is to identify bio markers and signaling pathways associated with neuromuscular complications of metastatic spine disease.
